Why a hybrid?
If you’ve rolled a Druid for Forever and you’re sat on the talent calculator wondering whether to commit to one tree or spread yourself across two, you’re asking the question this whole channel is built around. Restokins Ironbark is my Tauren Druid on the Horde side, and the Restokin idea is Balance and Restoration in the one build, with a real decision to make on both sides of every fight. This isn’t a talent-by-talent guide (that comes later, against a named patch), it’s the thinking behind the 31/0/20 so you can decide whether a hybrid is a character you actually want to play.
Whilst I haven’t played a level 60 Forever Druid yet, because nobody has, the game isn’t out, I’ve spent years on this class across both factions, learning each spec by playing it rather than reading about it. The attraction of a hybrid is obvious, you get to do more than one job. The cost is just as real, because every point you spend in one tree is a point that can’t go anywhere else, and that tension is the whole interest. A hybrid asks you to make the most of the options you brought, it isn’t a way to out-damage a dedicated caster or out-heal a dedicated healer.
The decisions are the content
A clip can show you a result without ever explaining how it happened. The useful part is almost always earlier, which target got the attention, where the Druid was standing, whether the pressure kept coming, or why healing suddenly became the next priority.
Those are the moments I want the stream and these field notes to make visible, so here are the four questions I ask myself on every one of them:
- Position, what I can actually reach from here, where my way out is, and which teammate I can still support if this goes wrong.
- Pressure, whether there’s an opening worth committing to, and what would make me stop or swap targets rather than force it.
- Support, whether my next action helps the team more than another cast on the target in front of me, even when another cast feels better.
- Review, what I’d change if the same situation came around again, keeping the quality of the decision separate from whether it happened to work.
The answers change with the encounter, and that’s the point, the format is as much about looking back at the play as making it, because a decision you can’t explain afterwards isn’t one you can repeat.
Follow it on stream
This is a PvP channel first, so expect the unglamorous work of learning a build alongside the fights where it comes together. When I do write a detailed guide, I’ll name the game version and keep tested behaviour separate from an idea that still needs checking, because on a class this new it’s easy to state a guess as a fact.
